Hotel Reviews

A collection of hotel reviews in properties I stayed in, sorted in according to loyalty programs.

Hotel Reviews. Intercontinental Hotel Group. Since 2014

One of my adored hotel groups as it caters to almost every type of traveler. Under IHG, we have the Intercontinental, Crowne Plaza, Hotel Indigo, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express and several more brands which are not available in Asia. For a budget trip, one could fall back onto HI, HIX and splurge a little for a luxurious stay with Intercontinental. It is not exactly hard to reach Platinum with IHG and their paid ambassador program is also quite attractive.

Hotel Reviews. Hilton Worldwide. Since 2014

It has been to close to a year since I have attained my Hilton HHonors Gold status and have managed to stay at a few properties so far. Hilton Worldwide has great upper upscale brands such as Waldorf Astoria, Conrad, Hilton at most developed cities. So far my stay experience has been quite good, totally love the stuffed toys which they give at the Conrads.

HHonors has been pretty liberal and generous with their points promotion but its also disheartening to know that the points redemption for award stays is completely crazy for mid category hotels and onwards.

Hotel Reviews. Accorhotels. Since 2015

The Accorhotel group consist of the luxurious Sofitel, Pullman brands, the well known mid-scale brand of Novotel and Mercure, not forgetting the no frills brand of Ibis and Adaigo.

There are so much I could have said for my stay experience at their hotels, it has been somewhat underwhelming, the stays could have been so much better. The rooms are beautiful, the product delivery is great, its just maybe that slight lack in service that makes the difference.

Hotel Reviews. Global Hotel Alliance. Since 2014

This is not a hotel group but an alliance of smaller hotel chain and groups to band together, forming an unique loyalty program. Some noticeable brands under this alliance are, Kempinski, Parkroyal, Pan Pacific, Anantara and Marco Polo.

One unique feature of this loyalty program is the absence of points earning and the belief in earning "local experience awards" which gives a memorable experience of choice Example of awards could be a day tour, a private dinner, a local concert, or even a limo ride from the airport.

Hotel Reviews. Others. Since 2014

Any other hotel stays that I have done in the past that don't belong to the above groups. These hotels offer a class on their own, be it better value proposition, or greater service quality, maybe sometimes, these hotels just wish to stand alone.
