This is my first stay as a newly minted Hilton HHonors Gold member. The Hotel was relatively easy to spot from the street but was slightly confusing as it is housed within a commercial/shopping arcade. .

The room booked was a Superior King room @ RM310++ per night.

I showed my member card and was directed to check in @ the executive lounge. 

I was greeted and given a double upgrade to a Executive King Room with Executive lounge access by the staff on duty. I was also given 2 warm signature doubletree chocolate chip and nuts cookie! 

My room is on the 27th floor with views of Ampang and the highlands of central KL. 

The rooms are approx 38 sq meter and comes  with a signature doubletree king size bed, sofa, workstation with ergonomic chair and satellite tv channels. 

The walk-in shower offers high powered rain fall shower and bath amenities by Citron from Crabtree & Evelyn.

The executive lounge access comes with complimentary breakfast at either the lounge or makan kitchen in the morning & evening cocktails/canapes at the lounge during the evening. The breakfast buffet spread at the Makan Kitchen was extensive and offered both international & local cuisine.

The breakfast spread at the lounge is not as extensive as the restaurant. However the lounge being located at the 34th floor boasts a better view. 

There were also 5 hot buffet options such as sausages, omelette and fried noodles. We returned to the lounge during the evening and were quite happy with the evening cocktail/canapes selection & spread. 

The evening canapes were quite tasty and could even be a lightweight replacement for dinner. 

During the evening as the sky darkens, a sip of red wine allows me to fall asleep faster. The view from my room also helped quite a fair bit. 

Doubletree Hilton Kuala Lumpur offered me a reasonably priced accomodation at Kuala Lumpur. The Hilton HHonors Gold recognition was superb. If price and elite recognition is a considering factor, I would have no qualms sticking with DTKL, however during my next stay, I would be looking for a property which offers room view of the Petronas Twin Tower.
