Lunch @ Indian Pavillion & Walking Tour of Dubai Mall

After touring the Madinat Jumeirah and the public beach overseeing the Burj Al Arab, we took a taxi to the Mall of the Emirates for lunch before departing to Dubai Mall for photo-taking. We arrived at the Mall of the Emirates and decided on having Indian food at the Pavilion dining hall

Afterall, we are in the Middle East, the Indian food should be not bad too yeah? We ordered a serving of butter chicken with fragrant briyani, fried fish packets, basket of naan and prawn curry.

The meal was satisfying yet it could be much better. The herbs and spices were slightly underwhelming. It was by mid afternoon when we finished our meal and we took a cab to the Dubai Mall to buy our tickets to catch sunrise at the top of Burj Khalifa

I was just blown away by the sheer size and scale of the Dubai Mall. There was indoor ice rink, waterfalls, hundreds of shops and a gold souk and even a full size dinosaur fossil.

We took a break and had a late afternoon tea at one of the mall restaurants. I had 2 scoops of gourmet home-made ice-cream. The mango and strawberry ice cream was rich and creamy, lovely in the Dubai heat.

We collected our tickets for the "On The Top" at Burj Khalifa tomorrow morning and went to take a look at the Ice Rink followed by the 4 story high indoor underwater world with a 100m walkway.

We exit the mall towards the Burj Khalifa lake and start to set up our gear and started snapping away against the setting sun.

More to be covered in the next post.
