Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium

During my stay back in August 2014 which I wrote about here, the property was undergoing heavy renovations in its lobby and main restaurants. It was pleasing to note the renovations have since been completed when I returned during the April this year.

I love the new light green hues and green tone which is introduced at the lobby area. The whole place looks rejuvenated.

I have booked a Deluxe King room during my stay and was upgraded to a King Executive Room with executive lounge access. Its always good to be part of a hotel loyalty program and having IHG Platinum grants you a complimentary upgrade and late check out + welcome drink.

I was informed by the friendly front desk officer that the Executive King Rooms were recently refurbished. The 30sqm Executive King Room comes with a glass work desk with ergonomic chair, single sofa seat, flat screen TV and deep soaking tub in its renovated bathroom.

Pleasing to note also that there was a welcome plate of fruits awaiting us in the room!

I love the Club/Executive rooms as it comes with executive lounge access which covers all day beverages, continental breakfast, high tea (at most properties) and evening canapés (small bites) with complimentary alcohol.

Usually the topup is around 25-50% of a standard room, but considering the additional benefits (usually the rooms are much nicer and located on the top few floors too), It seems pretty worthwhile!

The evening cocktail/canapés has improved since my last stay, glad to hear from the manager, Tiffany that they are reviewing their spread and look to introduce better quality offerings.

Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium - Executive Lounge Evening Canapés

I was quite impressed by the new evening canapés menu which consist of parma ham with honeydew, cold cucumber soup, seared tuna, a full salad bar, great strawberry cake and hot dishes such as tarts, quiche and chicken yakitori.

The new executive lounge looks wonderful. I will just post 2 pictures below (one taken in my previous stay here) and one which is during this stay. It looks modern, inviting and makes you want to stay.

On and above, they have open a cosy "living" area in the executive lounge by converting an adjacent room. This cosy room has sofas, reading shelves and TV for those looking for a different experience.

As night falls, we returned to our room and I felt a little hungry around 9 ish and ordered some room service from the in house chinese restaurant, Xin Cuisine. I have dined there for lunch too during the stay and I will cover more about that meal in a separate post.

Xin cuisine has been a staple for my every stay, the lobster noodles were good but a slightly more crustacean flavour would make it mind blowing. The seafood fried flat noodles were good with wo-hei just a little oily.

Good Night Singapore

Good Morning Singapore

We went over to the refurbished Atrium Restaurant for breakfast. The main restaurant usually serves a larger spread as compared to the executive lounge. I also wanted to see for myself how does the restaurant looks now.

There was a crowd at this time which generally puts me off and persuade me to have breakfast at the executive lounge. However the new refurbishment makes the restaurant looks great and vibrant with its bright colour decor.

As the stay comes to an end, we invoked our 4pm late check out as IHG Platinum and went for our complimentary welcome drink at the lobby bar, which also featured a new look!

When I looked back at this stay, the great service delivery and thoughtfulness of the staff are   reasons why I keep returning to IHG for my stays. Although there were some problems with the housekeeping, it was promptly rectified.
