InterContinental Hua Hin Resort

One of my favourite hotels of all time, located just a 2hrs drive south-west from Bangkok, home to the Thai King, set on the white sandy shore of Hua Hin beach, is the luxurious 5 star, Intercontinental Hua Hin Resort.

This time, I stayed in the Club Deluxe Twin Room on a rewards night redemption of 25k points/night. I, then paid a club upgrade of THB2,500++ per night which was approx SGD110++/night which was still reasonable as I had a great time previously in their exclusive club lounge.

We were checked in at the Intercontinental Club Lounge by the Club Lounge Manager, Miss Asmara who was as cheerful and lively as always.

The Club Deluxe Room is approx 45-50 sqm with a separate deep soaking tub, rainfall shower, twin bed configuration, flat screen LCD TV, study table, a beach view balcony with queen sized day bed and coffee table.

Was glad to see that the ambassador fruit basket has already been prepared and set in the room prior to my arrival.

One of the main highlights of the room is the spacious balcony and that great view of the resort & Hua Hin beach.

Nothing beats the experience of reading by the day bed whilst admiring the awesome scenery.

One main benefit of being a Club InterContinental guest is the access to free flow drinks during the day, complimentary continental made to order breakfast, high tea and evening canapes & cocktail.

We enjoyed the 3 tier high tea set and also the evening canapes spread which was great. The executive lounge which is located at the main lobby area is exclusive with a terrific tall ceiling, providing an awesome luxurious feel.

During one of the evenings, we stayed for the evening cocktails and canapés. There was a full salad bar, great spread of bread and desserts, cold cuts, finger food and 3 hot dishes. It was good, however if the spread could include better quality offerings, it would be great.

As the the night falls, we ordered a traditional rose petal milk bath which was prepared during our time at the club lounge. It was also pleasing to receive complimentary Macaroon from our club butler as she performed our evening turnout service.

Good Morning Hua Hin

InterContinental Resort Hua Hin - Infinity Pool

One recommended morning activity would be to arrange an "insider experience" at the hotel where they will arrange for a basket of snacks/drinks for you to give to the monks who stroll along the beach towards the temple at the other end of the Hua Hin Beach.

After receiving blessing by a Thai monk for the alms, we went to the main restaurant for breakfast. Pirom offers an international buffet breakfast spread for its guests with a live noodle station, fresh fruit station, omelette station, a full salad/fruits bar, western breakfast spread and also a wide range of asian/local breakfast selection.

We chose to have our breakfast at a private dining area which felt extremely exclusive.

The breakfast was great, we had a complimentary 1 hr Thai Boxing lesson hosted by the hotel which was a great sparring experience. The InterContinental Hua Hin has proven again to showcase a luxurious resort experience, setting my standards for future InterContinental resort stays.
