Holiday Inn Kuala Lumpur (Duplex Suite)

In my earlier post on my stay in the Executive Suite, I did mention about the bad smell which led to me requesting for a change of room. I was extremely glad that the service recovery was extremely fast and I was given the keys to my new Duplex Suite within 30 minutes!
The newly refurbished Duplex Suites are located in another wing of the resort building, located on the upper 2 stories of the wing. The first floor has a kitchenette area with living area, sofa, living table, dining table, LCD TV and a outdoor balcony with great views of the golf course.
There is also a cyclical stairway leading towards the upper floor home to the bathroom, with a study table, king sized bed, couch, LCD TV and an ensuite bathroom with standing shower and the usual Holiday Inn amenities.
The Duplex Suite is huge! easily able to accommodate a family of 4 or hosting some friends over for a simple dinner,

After inspecting the suite, a happy guy strolls to the Executive Lounge for the evening cocktails. The Executive Lounge is located at the other end of the property, with a mix of indoor and alfresco sitting area, overseeing the golf course too!
The evening cocktails were basic, a simple salad and cheese platter, 3 hot finger food and a small fridge with desserts. Basically, you need to head back to somewhere for dinner, like what I did by heading towards Fu-Rin Japanese Restaurant for dinner 2 days in a row.
The lounge looks quite cosy with couches and sofa style seats. If it weren't for my comfortable suite, I would have spent some afternoon time here updating my website.

After our evening cocktails, we went over to Fu-Rin Japanese Restaurant for a pretty good Japanese dinner after the evening cocktails and canapés. I wanted to have massage during my stay here but was told that there was no in-house massage/spa centre and the only option was a service partner which they have was a 15 minutes drive away. I declined the option and went to my room for an early night instead.
Next morning, we went to Kites restaurant for our breakfast. Kites offers a decent breakfast spread, which has your usual cold cuts, salad, cereals, bread, omelette station and also several hot dishes to choose from, including local delicacies and my favourite porridge. After breakfast, I took a walk around the hotel premises to explore the facilities.

I returned to the Garden Terrace for lunch for my second day. I just enjoy seeing the greenery from the restaurant and the prices for lunch is pretty reasonable. You can get a main for RM15-25 which is decent prices!
This time, I ordered some fried chicken wings, mee rebus and also a repeat order of the seafood horfun from yesterday. The chicken wings were well marinated, juicy but a tad oily and not as crispy as I expected. The mee rebus was good, the sauce was thick and rich. The seafood horfun was the same as before.
It is also a joy of life to sit and enjoy the scenery whilst having a glass of coke light.

Other than me having a problem with my first day in the Executive Suite, the rest of the stay was just as what I originally planned it out to be. A relaxing stay with greenery and some culinary indulgence plus a swim in the pool. I was extremely pleased with the entire stay, of course there are issues to be improved such as the mildew with the old rooms, and some soft renovation could be done in the common areas. Would I return? Oh yes, definitely if I'm in the area!
