Le Royal Meridien Shanghai (Club Twin Room)

My first trip to China! I spent my first few nights at a starwood property, the 5 star Le Royal Meridien Shanghai which is conveniently located at People's Square, along Nanjing Road where many restaurants and shopping malls are located. Walk towards the end of Nanjing East Road and you will end up at the Bund.

Le Royal Meridien is one of the tallest hotels in Shanghai with a great panoramic view of Shanghai city and the bund. The above was the view from my floor's lobby. This time, I was staying at the Le Royal Club Room with views of the People's Square.

The room is located on the 55th floor with awesome city views.

The Club Rooms are located on the 44 to 62 floors of the property with a twin or king configuration. My 38sqm club twin room came with an open concept bathroom, separate deep soaking bath and rainfall shower with frosted glass doors, private vanity area, glass working table with ergonomic chair, a living table, single seater sofa and flat screen TV.

The view from the room, is equally awesome.

During the stay, I had the opportunity to dine with my friend at both of their restaurants. I had lunch at the Le Bistrot Signature Restaurant. This restaurant also serves sunday brunches, evening buffet and also international breakfast buffet for inhouse guests.

Personally, I did not highly rate the lunch I had at the restaurant. Being a Le Royal Meridien, I do expect better quality for its F&B offering and certainly this meal does not meet up to the standards. I am not sure whether are my expectations too high but there were many things which could be done much better.

The meat was overcooked, rice was dry, the variety was great, just the quality was sub-par.  If this is the standard of its breakfast, I was glad that I have skipped passed it for a bowl of noodles along Nanjing road. After the meal, I went to the outdoor gardens for some fresh air and took a few more shots of the surrounding areas.

I definitely took some time off my itinerary to explore the gym and the indoor swimming pool, and heated jacuzzi which was a warm welcome to the cold weather.
