InterContinental Bali Resort (Club Duplex Suite)

The 417 rooms InterContinental Bali Resort is just off the beautiful Jimbaran Bay, occupying 14 hectares of prime beachfront land boasts an impressive sunset view. The InterContinental Bali Resorts feature a rich balinese design, inspired by the obvious balinese culture and Hindu history of the island.

I checked out from the Holiday Inn Express Bali Raya Kuta earlier to arrive here to enjoy the cool morning breeze and expansive pool and hotel common areas. I was ushered from the main lobby to the Club InterContinental Lounge when the front service staff noticed that I've book a Club InterContinental room.

Being an InterContinental Ambassador has its perks, and guaranteed upgrade was one of them. After arriving at the lounge, I was invited to have breakfast whilst check-in procedures were formalised. I was also offered a welcome drink and an Ambassador gift in the form of a beautiful IC branded wooden hand fan.

I was upgraded to the beautiful Club Duplex Suite, located at the Club InterContinental wing, the beautiful 17 well-appointed 79sqm Duplex Suites offers a dual level accommodation, the lower level features a Balinese style living and dining area and a outdoor balcony with twin day bed, leading up the stairs towards the upper level features a King sized bed with walk in closet, spacious marble bathroom with deep soaking tub, walk-in rainfall shower and luxurious bath amenities by HARNN.

If there is one thing I have to mention, it would be the great in-room amenities. I was already pleasantly surprised by the huge sized HARNN bath amenities and on-top of that, I found generous offering of TWG tea sachets, 4 sachet of 6 different offering which would please even the most fussy tea lovers.

There was also a welcome letter placed on the living table, plate of fruits, box of chocolates and towards the later part of the day, a cute InterContinental Bear found its way to the table with a chocolate birthday cake for myself! Awesome!

Staying in the Club InterContinental Wing also grants us exclusive club benefits such as 24 hour butler service, breakfast at 4 venues including your bed, exclusive access to the Club InterContinental Lounge for breakfast, afternoon tea, evening cocktails and all day beverages, exclusive access to the Club InterContinental Pool with a dedicated pool bar and not forgetting the all important complimentary luxury airport transfer service.

I love my pool quiet and having access to the club pool which is also a lap pool allows me to swim a couple of laps whilst enjoying a beer/cocktail during the 1700-1900 period.

I remember I mentioned briefly that one of the greatest feature of this property is the awesome sunset from the Jimbaran bay and I was out there snapping whilst the sun prepare to rest for the day.

During the next few days in the morning, I had the choice of either having my breakfast sent to my room or I could head over to the main restaurant, club lounge or club pool for my breakfast.

Having breakfast in your own room, is a luxury by itself, you could just wake up, shower, freshen up and with the buzz of the door-bell, tadah, breakfast right at your door step. Note : This breakfast has its own menu and its definitely more then enough on its own, however if you fancy a wider range of variety, head down to the main restaurant and enjoy your breakfast whilst basking in the sound of quacking ducks.

I tried both and still cant decide on which is better.

After a sumptuous breakfast, it is always good to take a stroll, and with 14 hectares of land, I may end up hungry after the end of the stroll. The extensive gardens, countless day beds and huts that line up along the shore, six swimming pools. I did have a short nap at one of the huts whilst listening to the melodic tune of the gentle waves washing up the shore.

After the unexpected nap, I head over to the luxurious Spa Uluwatu for my planned treatment of 1 hour full body massage.

Towards the end of my stay, I was feeling a little reluctant to leave. Guess this shows that InterContinental Bali Resort has succeeded in their service delivery and product quality which has pretty much summed up my fantastic stay. I totally enjoyed the stay and only wished that the stay could be much longer. With Bali just a 2 hours flight away, I could see myself returning again in the future for another unforgettable Club InterContinental experience.
