Damnoen Saduak Floating Market Tour

During my recent trip to Bangkok, we took a morning tour out to the Maeklong Train Market. Seeing the train flash pass us and the tracks which 5 minutes ago was the market is interesting.
We headed towards the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market where our guide and boatman is already waiting for us at the pier.
Getting onto the mini longtail boat was an experience itself, the boat was swaying from left to right and it could only accommodate 1 person per row.

It was a 5 minutes boat ride, at times the boat traveled pretty fast, to the actual floating market
You know you are at the main straits of the floating market as its packed with boats. So much boats that it felt more like a boat bumping session rather then floating market.
The floating market seem to sell quite many stuff, from touristy souvenirs to popular street food such as pancakes, coconut ice cream, phad thai and many more.

One thing I had to accept was that this is meant more for the tourist rather than the locals. I got myself a coconut for 75 baht, which is near to $3? I could get a chilled coconut for a lower price in the supermarket at Singapore!
There had to be haggling done when you want to purchase a product, (which is a joy for the ladies and a big pain for me.) We did have quite a good phad thai cooked by a thai lady but that's all I got myself for my trip to the floating market.
Its a nice experience, but I would want to visit a less touristy market for my next trip.
