Hilton Singapore (Executive Suite)
I first reviewed the King Executive Room of the Hilton Singapore earlier this year. I returned for a second stay in 3 months, mainly due to the promotion rate which was running at the Hilton website. A deluxe room goes for S$180++ per night over the weekend which is an extremely good rate for this property.
Secondly, I also wish to try the food at Il Cielo, the award winning Italian restaurant located on the rooftop, by the poolside of the hotel.
I arrived at the property at 2pm and as a Hilton HHonors Diamond member, was given an awesome upgrade to its spacious 69sqm Executive King Suite.
The well appointed 69sqm Executive King Suite is located at the end of the corridor, it has a separate living area, a long and comfortable sofa, with floor to ceiling windows offering view of Orchard road and a dining table for 4. There is also a guest washroom too!
The bedroom is located on the other end of the suite, a comfortable King sized bed, with flat LCD TV, ergonomic chair and workstation, a sofa lounge for those who prefer an afternoon chill session.
Its a beautiful suite in my opinion, with 2 unique views of the Orchard area. I love the living area of the suite, spacious, clean and neat.
The bathroom is awesome, double vanity area, powerful rainfall shower and separate deep soaking tub and an adjoined room with your private flush toilet area.
One of the main reasons why I keep returning to Hilton is the PeterThomasRoth toiletries which are offered at the property. I love the Mandarin Orange concept which is refreshing when used for a good warm soak in the tub.
All suite guests also enjoy complimentary access to the Executive Club Lounge, benefits includes;
- Continental Breakfast at Club Lounge or International Buffet Breakfast at Opus bar & grill
- All day beverages at the Club Lounge
- Afternoon Tea
- Free flow evening cocktails and canapes at the Club Lounge
Its a nice experience to pop by the club lounge for a pre-dinner drink of bubbles or select cocktails before heading for your actual dinner. For those who have a small appetite, this could be a good substitute for dinner too.
After some pre-dinner cocktails at the Club Lounge, we headed over to Il Cielo for a nice Italian dinner. As we were not hungry, we took a Pizza to share and a Tiramisu for dessert.
We ordered the signature Il Cielo pizza, a simple Margherita pizza with 2 flavours, one half caviar and lobster, the other mushrooms and truffle.
The pizza was pretty good, the crust had a nice smoky flavour, the flavours were strong but not overwhelming, I felt that the lobster pieces could have been more though.
The Tiramisa is amazing, crispy flaky mille-feuille served with smooth and aromatic gelato, a special rendition of the Tiramisu, done pretty well. I could have this anytime.
Next Morning, we chose to have breakfast at the main restaurant instead due to the wider range of variety of food and juices. There is a wide spread of food at the main restaurant, various cuisines such as Indian, Japanese, Asian and continental spread including a live egg station.
Head over to the restaurant earlier as it tends to have a bottleneck at the egg stations and more popular food selections towards 10am.
An overall good stay at the Hilton Singapore, I felt that the evening canapes could be better at the lounge, the service staff were impeccable.
