High Tea @ The Landing Point (Fullerton Bay Hotel)

A few weeks ago, I visited The Landing Point at The Fullerton Bay Hotel to savour their afternoon tea set. The Landing Point is located on the east wing of the Fullerton Bay Hotel and is not to be confused with The Clifford Pier.
The Afternoon Tea set goes for $45++ per person with free flow staples such as scones with fresh clotted cream and jam, artisanal savory snacks and delicious sweet treats. During my visit, there was a special mini-buffet of 3 hot dishes that is being served, truffle fries, mini beef burgers and breaded popcorn chicken. On top of that, they even have a range of branded teas and coffees which you can choose from.
I love the place's ambience, it is classy, exclusive and definitely a place where you would want to chill with your loved ones over the weekend.

There were 3 of us and the 3-tiers afternoon tea looked a little overwhelmed with our savory and sweet treats. There were a total of 18 different types of delights on the 3 tiers;
Savory Treats
Quiche, Boston Lobster on Tart, White Truffle Egg Mayo Sandwich, Smoked Salmon Sandwich topped with Caviar, Prosciutto Ham Bagel, Cheese and Fruit Terrine on Hazelnut Cracker, Cucumber Sandwich with Ikura, Duck Rilette in Sesame Bun and Smoked Chicken Capsicum Wrap.
Sweet Treats
Chocolate E-clair, Lemon Tart, Pistachio Madeline, Canele, Salted Chocolate Caramel Tart, Macaroons, Fruit Cake and Pistachio Puff.
I enjoyed quite a few of the items on the menu, especially the white truffle egg mayo, Boston lobster on tart and the hot scones. On the other hand, I expected a better quality in terms of the food offerings, I did not enjoy the cucumber sandwich, the fruit cake nor the cream puffs.

We were excited about the mini beef burgers but found it to be under-seasoned and dry. After an hour or so into high tea service, the replenishment tray was here to top-up our savory high tea treats. I opted for more servings of the Boston lobster and white truffle egg mayo sandwich.
The service was not up to expectation, we did not have a drink menu with us and quite often, we were not capture any service staff attention to take our subsequent drink orders.
Towards the end of my meal, there was even a few blackish porous stone-like object on one of my egg mayo sandwich that seemed like a charcoal bit.
I really expected much more from this high tea experience, we left with mixed feelings in our tummy as we all felt that there were much improvement to be made.
