InterContinental Hanoi Westlake (King Grand Westlake Suite)
During my trip to Hanoi City, I first stayed at the Hilton Hanoi Opera before moving to the InterContinental Hanoi Westlake for a luxurious 2 nights stay at the reclusive Westlake.
InterContinental Hanoi Westlake is a beautiful 5-star resort which I have set my sights on for staying since my first trip to Vietnam, that time to InterContinental Asiana Saigon. This property is located right on the tranquil waters of the largest lake in Hanoi which is near to the old quarters but also away from the hustle and bustle of the city life that guarantees you a peaceful and exclusive stay experience.
The check-in experience was professional and classy, i was greeted as a Spire Ambassador and was given an awesome upgrade to the King Grand Westlake Suite, the second highest category room in the property
The 70sqm King Grand Westlake Suite features am open concept spacious living area with comfortable sofa chairs with a shared TV console in the middle of the room, viewable from both the bedroom and living area.
The comfortable king bed faces the balcony area which features a panoramic view of the Westlake and the hotel facilities. I spent much time lazing by the balcony, reading my book and enjoying the scenery, be it during the sunny afternoon or thundery night.
The bathroom is amazing, it features a large deep soaking tub with luxurious rainfall shower and double vanity area which is a pleasant welcome.
During the evening, I was recommended by the Marcomms Manager and Director of Sales & Marketing to head down to the Pavilion area not just for a drink but also to admire the beautiful sunset.
Armed with my camera and tripod, I took a few long exposure shots of that beautiful radiant and orange sunset on the first evening of my stay. The below shot of the walkway from the main hotel building towards the central pavilion is one of my favourite shot amongst the entire series.
During the night, the skies gathered and a thunderstorm was approaching. We opted for room service for a nice supper which consist of fresh rice rolls and a refreshing pomelo salad. As we were having our supper, my camera was snapping away as the lightning strikes throughout the night.
Next morning, I headed towards Cafe Dulac Restaurant for our breakfast. The Cafe Dulac Restaurant features an international buffet selection for breakfast, including your favourite regular staples such as cold cuts, salad, cereals, fresh bread, bun and pastries selection and not forgetting the sausages, bacon and baked beans
There is also a live omelette station and what impressed me was the presence of an area purely serving local Vietnamese delicacies such as the famous pho, local snacks and savoury treats.
The stay was an awesome stay as always, I have trusted the InterContinental Brand to deliver a luxurious, exclusive and enjoyable stay experience and I am pleased that I left as a happy traveller after a 2-night stay at this property.
I will share about my experience as a Club InterContinental guest in my next scheduled post. Stay tuned!
