Dim Dim Sum Mongkok
During the second day of my Hong Kong trip, we headed to Dim Dim Sum for lunch after an extended morning on the road. There are several Dim Dim Sum outlets In Hong Kong, located at Sha Tin, Jordon, Wanchai and Mongkok.
I visited the outlet at Jordon, the outlet is a 5 mins walk from Austin MTR and a 15 mins walk away from Jordan MTR.
We arrived approx 1130hrs and there is already a queue forming at the outlet. We got a seat within 5 minutes of wait. By this time, we were already famished and we ordered a few dishes to share.
We ordered a variety of dimsum such as the signature Prawn Dumpling, Prawn & Pork Siew Mai, the highly recommended beef balls with beancurd skin, deep fried brinjal with shrimp paste before ending it off with homemade rice rolls with minced beef.
The dimsum were pretty good. I loved the Har Gao and Siew Mai, each har gao were generously filled with whole succulent shrimps, the siew mai had a nice balance of minced pork and shrimp. The fried brinjal with shrimp paste is something different and it was not bad, just a tad oily. The beef balls were amazing, it has a bouncy texture with a nice bite to it. I did not like the sauce as I am not a big fan of vinegar. Nevertheless, the meal was pretty good itself, quality is great and price on a very reasonable scale.
All in all, we paid approx SGD40 for this meal. I will definitely return to Dim Dim Sum for my dimsum fix during my next trip to Hong Kong!
