InterContinental Saigon (Deluxe Suite)

The first stop of my trip to Ho Chi Minh City is a return to the luxurious InterContinental Saigon. IC Saigon is located at District 1 of Ho Chi Minh City, within walking distance to the famous Notre Dame Cathedral and the Saigon Post Office.

The journey from the airport to the hotel is direct and straightforward, it was an approx a 30 minutes ride from the airport to the hotel.

We arrived at the hotel approx 12 noon and was warmly greeted as a IHG Spire Ambassador. We booked a King Club room and was given an upgrade to their Deluxe Suite. Our 66sqm Deluxe Suite is located on the same floor as the Executive Club Lounge with a spacious apartment style configuration. As we enter the suite, there is a separate living area with guestroom with a door separately the private bedroom.

A beautiful welcome fruit basket sits on the living room table filled with fresh tropical fruits in a cone that resembles a traditional Vietnamese farmer's hat.

My Suite offers awesome views of District 1, with the Saigon Post Office and Notre Dame Cathedral right at the front, Ben Thanh Market and the Imperial Palace towards the far end.

The bedroom has a flat LCD TV, a fluffy and pretty comfortable king bed with an ensuite bathroom configuration of a single vanity area, separate deep soaking tub with your private TV and a rainfall shower area. It also comes with InterContinental branded amenities and Agraria bath amenities which I personally does not like.

Staying in the Suites also grants us access to exclusive Club InterContinental benefits such as access to the private Club InterContinental Lounge with continental and ala-carte made to order breakfast, 3 tier high tea with gourmet coffee and tea selection and not forgetting the complimentary evening cocktails and canapes which I will cover in my next installment.

Guests who do not have access to Club InterContinental may have their breakfast at the main restaurant if it is included in their rates. The breakfast at the main restaurant has a full international buffet with cold cuts, fresh juice corner, bread and pastries section, grill station, asian delights and continental staples such as bacon and ham. I prefer to have my breakfast at the main restaurant because of the overwhelming spread, however the Club Lounge do offer a private and reclusive environment for a relaxing breakfast with your loved one.
