Hilton Garden Inn Ngurah Raj (Family Room)


In my last review, I covered my flight review of the KLM World Business Class. It was a smooth immigration process at Bali. As I was arriving in the late evening, I decided to use my points and book a 2 nights stay at Hilton Garden Inn Ngurah Raj. The redemption rate is 5,000 points a night (you cant get any lower than that) and they offer complimentary airport shuttle service.
Upon clearing immigration, look for a staff holding onto the Hilton Garden Inn board and they will usher you to a waiting area. The shuttle service comes once every 15 minutes and it is just a quick 5 minutes ride from the airport to the hotel.
Upon arriving at the property, I was given an upgrade to a family room as their suites are all booked. The family room is very spacious.










The 48 sqm Family Room, may be "re-catergorised" as a Junior Suite in other properties, and could easily be done so by putting a sofa and a wall feature to have a mini partition between the bedroom and living area.
The room is basic, however it has the necessary amenities for me. There is a working table with an ergonomic chair, a cupboard, a chair for me to put on my shoes before I leave. The property also offered limited hours room service.
The ensuite bathroom is spacious, with a individual vanity, bath amenities from CrabTree & Evelyn, which is carried by their sister brand, DoubleTree by Hilton. I was expecting a normal shower but was pleased that there is the rainfall shower option.








By the time I settled down, took a shower and ready to grab a meal, it was 10pm. I went over to the main restaurant, The Garden Grille for a light supper before I head to sleep. Ordered a Seafood Tempura, Coconut and their daily steamed garoupa special.
The fish was not good, not fresh and had a fishy smell. The tempura was too oily. Disappointed, I read my ipad and finished my coconut and head off for a early rest/












I woke up at 8, and went over for breakfast at 9, expecting a crowd but was pleasantly surprised that there was no queue. I was quickly brought to my table and got a nice chocolate cupcake as a "welcome/appreciation gesture" for being a Hilton Diamond member.
The breakfast spread was not bad, you have several local dishes, the usual international staples of sausages, ham, omelette, bakery options. I had no complaints actually. Comparing the breakfast to my previous Holiday Inn Express stays in Bali, this is definitely a big thumbs up.








All in all, I am a very happy guest at Hilton Garden Inn Ngurah Raj, for the price/points I have paid, this is a very reasonable stay and I would definitely be back if I needed a place to rest for the night (example a late night arrival). Disclaimer though, this hotel is not for you if you are looking for a nice beach resort, this hotel faces the main road, has no beach but is located between Kuta and the south bali (Uluwatu, Nusa Dua etc) and could be a good accommodation choice for you heading out for tours and stuff.
