KLM Flight Review - Singapore to Bali - World Business

It is my second time taking KLM from Singapore to Bali. I spent 5 days 4 nights in Bali in November as a birthday treat for myself. From time to time, KLM would offer heavily discounted rates promotion, known as the KLM Dream Deals.

I got my two way business class flight for the 2 hour odd flight to KLM for S$429 nett which was quite worthwhile considering that it was the school holiday season in Singapore.

Upon arrival at Changi Airport, the check-in counter for Business Class was empty and I got my tickets and stuff all done within minutes. I did not pop by the business class lounge as I was doing some shopping. Mont Blanc offers a 10% discount for their members during birthday month, and as there is no 7% GST in the airport, you are effectively getting a 17% discount!

As I reached the boarding gate, there were quite a fair bit of travelers waiting to board the flight, we were called to board first and I was one of the first to board the plane. Business class seems empty!

The KLM Business Class Cabin is in a 2-2-2 configuration. During my flight, the Cabin was quite empty and there were only me and another guy (whom we sat together in my return flight) in the same row.

As we are waiting for take-off, I was offered a glass of champagne and the menu for our flight. I got myself cosy and got my camera ready to take some sunset shots. A small tip, if you wish to snap sunrise/sunset shots, take note of your flight direction and choose the window seat that faces the "sunset/sunrise".

As the flight to Bali was a southbound flight, I took the right window seat. Soon after, we took-off without delays. There was a short shower in the afternoon before we took off and I manage to take a shot of a full rainbow (as shown below).

About 30 minutes into the flight, seatbelt sign was off and we were promptly served our dinner. This time, I opted for the Braised Beef Brisket in Tomato and Olive sauce with carrots, red radish. It was accompanied with a seared tuna appetiser and a traditional custard tart. The dinner was quite good!

After my meal, I had another glass of champagne whilst snapping away the sunset.
As the sky turns dark, I took a short 30 minutes nap, whilst listening to some music. The seats on the World Business allows for full flat recline and is quite comfortable.

We arrived in Denpasar Bali on schedule and the immigration was effortless. In my past trips, we tend to spend about 30 minutes to an hour at immigration, I guess we were the only flight arriving at this time, immigration took only 15 mins or so. As I went over the baggage area, my bag was already on the conveyor and I headed out toward the hotel driver who is waiting for me.

I spent the first 2 nights at Hilton Garden Inn Bali Ngurah Raj Airport which is a short 2 minutes drive from the airport and a short 5 minutes drive to the main kuta beach. I will be covering the my stay review of the Hilton Garden Inn in my next instalment.
