D9 Endless Saturday High Tea @ Hilton Singapore
Hilton Singapore has launched their new Endless Saturday High Tea at D9 Cakery that features a great spread of savoury bites and sweet treats. This high tea has plenty of standout selection such as a 6-meter dessert showcase of artisanal desserts, live teppanyaki ice cream station, live laksa and satay station, pulled pork sliders, Swiss Raclette cheese and a hand-picked selection of 10 finest TWG blends.
I kick start my high tea with of course photos and afterwhich I went straight for the savoury treats, the pulled pork sliders were yum!, filled with juicy pork strands coated in delicious BBQ sauce.
With that much spread, I could get lost on actually what to fill for my second and my third serving of goodies. The 6 meter sweet treats has plenty of choices to just put you in a gluttony limbo of thoughts, should I get the Matcha Azuki, Fudgy chocolate, Classic Caramel, Signature Cheesecake or should I head over for the individual jars of customised desserts such as premium chocolates with caramelized hazelnuts and walnuts, or citrus panna cotta.
Heck with the calories as I went straight for almost everything, sweeping each selection plate by plate. I totally love the jar of premium chocolate with caramelised hazelnuts and walnuts, super crunchy, rich and chocolately.
The best thing about a buffet is that when you are reaching that point of a sugar rush, you can always make a dramatic U-turn and take more savoury food!
Just when I've thought that I could have no more, I went back for another serving of thick and succulent chicken & beef satay (Kebabs I would say). The satay sauce was slightly diluted, would have been so much better if they were richer. The satay however was nicely grilled and evenly marinated.
They even have a mini dimsum corner serving Siew Mai, Har Gao, custard and red bean bun.
I was pleasantly surprised to find that there was also stir fried seafood mee tai mak!
Overall, the high tea buffet goes for $41++ per pax with free flow coffee and tea seems pretty reasonable considering the spread and the quality of the food. I thoroughly enjoyed the food, especially the Laksa, Satay, the signature Hilton cheesecake and the chocolate in a jar.
The only downside which I felt was the presence of the 2 seating arrangement which meant that you have a choice of a "lunch buffet" from 12 to 2.30pm or an actual high tea from 3.00 to 5.00pm. I would prefer if it was a single seating buffet.
To add on, for alcohol lovers, you can do a top up of $35++ per pax for free flow wines and beer.
I do hope that this high tea would be a permanent fixture in the D9 Cakery features as I do look forward to returning with my friends and family for another enjoyable high tea experience!
