Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua
Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua is located at a stretch of private beach with pristine white sand, calm clear waters and scores of luxury resorts. This is a relatively new property which was opened in December 2013. We arrived at the property at 1200hrs. We were brought to the club lounge for our welcome drink & introduction of the club lounge benefits.
It was great to know that the room has been prepared and ready. We were given a 2 category upgrade to a Sofitel Club luxury room with pool access as Accor Platinum. The resort was huge and it was a 5 minutes walk to my room from the lounge. When i entered the room, it was wow! This room is huge!
There was a sitting area with a sofa, a round chair. There is a coffee machine, a hidden area with a closet, safe and place to rest your luggage. One of the biggest club rooms I have stayed!
Was extremely surprised & happy to find a personalised letter and gourmet treat of chocolates, macaroons and variety of local fruits to taste.
The bathroom came with separate deep soaking tub, standing rainfall shower and WC area. The toiletries offered were from Hermes.
The best of a pool access room?, you get to access the room whenever you want! No need to carry those towels down the stairs, its right at your doorstep. Furthermore, it comes with a very cosy sofa and hanging chair.
I made a reservation for a sunday brunch buffet at Cut Catch Cucina which was recommended by The Shutterwhale when I was reading his blog sometime last year. The brunch was great and I will cover it in the next post.
Moving on, one thing great about this pool access is that you are able to swim/walk to the main pool lagoon and the pool bar. The resort itself was huge! This is the main pool area
Walking away from the pool leads you to the beach. there were many day beds around. There is also the Nikki Beach Bali with a bar and lounge area.
The water was clear with minimal waves, great for a day soak.
Going back to the resort, I manage to take a few shots during the evening, had a cocktail by the rooftop bar. The signature cocktail is slurps!
The bar is located at the main hall, which you arrive from when alighting at the driveway. The dome is magnificent. I took a few from out at the driveway and towards the bar
After the cocktail, as we walk back towards the hotel, you cant stop but admire the beauty of the resorts, such as the landscaped gardens and little bridges across the pools.
As we say goodnight to today, we also welcome the start of the next day & the breakfast spread at the main restaurant is great.
I also had breakfast at the club lounge on the 2nd day but it was passable.
It was sad to bade farewell to the resort after 2 nights of wonderful indulgence. I shall do so by dedicating one of my favourite shot of my stay to the hotel. Manage to snap this long exposure shot with cloud lighting.
