Tandoor Restaurant @ Holiday Inn Singapore Orchard City Centre
During my stay at the Holiday Inn Singapore Orchard City Centre, the club lounge staff were raving about their inhouse Indian restaurant, Tandoor.
Tandoor, prepares authentic and traditional Indian cuisine with their famous dishes ebing Nalli Gohst, Mango Curry and a modern twist of Bailey's Irish Cream Kulfi.
We were strongly recommended to make a reservation as it is usually packed during the weekends and obtaining a seat on the day would be a challenge.
We started our meal with homemade samosas which is great, full of flavour and not oily. We ordered the Malabari Fish Curry, Mugh Makhani, and Nalli Gosht accompanied by a basket of mixed Naan bread. We also ordered a serving of the Mutton Briyani for sharing.
The Nalli Gosht, which is lamb shanked cooked in its own juice and served as a curry is extremely tender and flavourful.
We loved the Murgh Makhani, which is chicken tikka cooked in rich creamy tomato sauce, a great pairing to the freshly naan bread.
The Malabari Fish Curry has generous servings of fresh fish cubes cooked in a tangy and refreshing coconut curry.
The star of the day and the favourite amongst all was the Mutton Briyani, the rice is light and fluffy infused with the rich dum and briyani spices. The mutton was rich and tender, simply delicious.
I had to order my favourite palak Paneer which is cottage cheese cubes cooked with spinach, a rich and savory dish that goes well with rice or naan bread.
The entire meal came up to an average of $50 per pax which may be considered expensive, however we felt that this is reasonable in consideration of the food quality and would definitely be back for that occasional indulgence.
